Women's Brain Fear of Fat Indeed

Utah, USA, Women who are not afraid of getting fat is a strange woman. From brain scans carried out, the female brain was afraid of getting fat, so it is normal if a little bit afraid of getting fat women complain.

Quoted from Science Daily, Thursday (15/4/2010), brain scanning technology is done by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by a team of researchers from Brigham Young University.

Participants are a group of women with normal weight and not to crash diet. Prior to her brain scanned, they are told to see a photo of a unknown woman who had excess weight.

Results of scanning, the image is part of the brain have enabled the processing of identity and self-reflection. Participants became agitated and imagined her body could be like in the picture.

These findings will be reported in the journal Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences for the May 2010 edition.

The researchers actually working on a project to overcome eating disorders by brain scan. In women with eating disorders anorexia and bulimia, view photos fat woman it's enable self-reflection centers in the brain called the medial prefrontal cortex.

The researchers did not expect before, that women without eating disorders are also afraid of becoming fat. Observation of the group initially only as a comparison.

Intrigued with these results, researchers conducted similar observations on a group of men. Unfortunately, this kind of phenomenon is not found in men. It turned out that the man ordinary brain response only when being fat.
